Q&A Time

Why is my site called fridaysyndrome?  Because as everyone knows in an office environment, and as far as I know any work environment or school, people tend to get a bit happier on Friday’s.  Well I’ve just taken it to the next level.  I’ve always been a bit hyperactive on Friday’s with the notion of 2 days of relaxation, fun, nothingness - whatever you want to fill the weekend with really - before you have to return to work to deal with a new work week and the stresses that go along with it.  Workmates who didn’t have the luxury of starting to wind down on a Friday used to joke about wanting some of whatever I was on…..and anyway long story short, Kristy gets excited on Friday’s and so we used to joke about having “Kristy’s Friday Syndrome” (or KFS), so really Friday Syndrome could apply to anyone, but I really like the name and it has stuck ever since.

What are my hobbies?  I luuuuuuurve dancing.  I started dancing (tap, ballet and jazz) when I was 8/9 years old, and I always wanted to dance professionally when I grew up, but slowly started to realise that it was just a pipe dream, and I needed a real job, and so as I grew older and wiser and my dancing teacher retired when I was around 16/17, it didn’t really leave me with many options.  So here I am in a nice cushy office job but still enjoy dancing as an extra curricular activity.  Now I still do tap and jazz (let’s face it, I was never going to be a ballerina) on a weekly basis at an adult class run by my friend and teacher Janine Slag.  Janine now has her own studio (PPDC) with over 300 students which I am proud to be associated with.

Home life?  I have a great boyfriend Pete, who’s also 28 and gorgeous son Caleb, who’s 8. I love spending time with “the boys” as I call them, although sometimes you can imagine it’s nice to have some “me time” as well.  Luckily I get some of this time as Pete is always working and growing his webhosting company, Ingenuity Hosting. Time spent together usually consists of things such as playing board games, playing PS2 or PC games, watching DVD’s, going to the cinema, going out for dinner, going to the park and kicking or throwing a ball around, visiting friends and family, doing homework, reading bedtime stories, washing, cooking, cleaning….yep we pretty much do everything together and the boys always help.  You couldn’t ask for anything more
